Happy Birthday, Everett!
We had a great time celebrating with Everett today, on our second day of school!
Yesterday, we went over our Student Rights, talked about Responsibility and our Clippin' for Character chart, put together our L.Y.N.X. Binder and practiced filling out our agenda. (*whew*) Of course, we also went over lots and lots of procedures for all of the various aspects of school at Brandon Elementary.
Today, we practiced all of those procedures we learned, and of course we are marvelous at almost all of them! We learned how to use a responder for Accelerated Math (AM), and created a place to put it into our binders daily. Nightly AM and AR practice is a great responsibility to practice. It will lead to success in reading and math this year! We talked about respect today, and will continue our respect discussion tomorrow. Also, we went over our Student Obligations today and watched come Silly Songs With Larry. (Some kiddos didn't know what a quartet was.)
Yesterday, their homework was to watch a Watch Me Whip It video and practice their dance moves. Didn't get the chance? Hit this link HERE!
Tonight, student's will help to get in the habit of nightly AM practice by working 3 problems on their AM Practice packet. It can be any three problems and they may skip the ones they can't answer yet. (We will go over one of those expanded form problems tomorrow in a Math Talk).
PARENTS: Your homework is to get signed up for Remind. If you didn't sign up at open house, you should have received a Remind hand out in the LYNX binder. Please follow the directions, since this will be the main way that I communicate with all of you this year.

ALSO please peruse and sign your students Agenda, as well as look through papers to sign and return or keep at home. LOTS of important information will be coming home these first few weeks!
Thank you for ALL that you do. I absolutely LOVE your students already. This year will be epic!
