On Friday, students should be at 40% of both their AM and AR goals. Remember, the actual requirement is 10 points this quarter, but students still have the goals that they set for themselves in the system - so TOPS reports will reflect these goals. Each night, student should be reading at least 20 min of AR and working on an AM practice. This will help greatly in staying on track to meet those learning goals!
We also started something new this week: Literacy Stations/Centers. Students will use reading and language arts times throughout the week to complete these independent and partner stations. They will focus on spelling practice, word work, the reading lesson skills, close reading, and writing. This week they are required to complete 4 stations: spelling sort, AR 360 on fact and Opinion, Use Your Senses Writing, and one of the following: Fact and Opinion on Hollywood Horses, and Close Reading on Caribou. They also can complete a center on homophone and spelling cursive practice. Once these stations are compete, students will have extra AR time to work towards their goals! I will be working with small groups and individuals at these times.
I will leave you with this - in honor of cheeseburger day in the cafeteria <3
